Vendor Luncheon
Sometimes doing business with a City can seem like a challenge and navigating those waters can be a bit overwhelming when in reality, it shouldn't be! In an effort to get more local businesses on board as vendors for the the City of La Porte, the City, the La Porte Development Corporation, and the La Porte Bayshore Chamber of Commerce are all coming together help answer your questions! The first "How to do Business with the City of La Porte" lunch and learn will be held on Wednesday May 27th from 12-1pm at the Evelyn Kennedy Center in La Porte. “The local businesses support our community in so many ways, what better way to say thank you than to reach out and making every effort to do business with them where we can.” says City Manager Corby Alexander. At the lunch and learn we will have a catered lunch, a presentation, and representatives on hand to help your business get signed up as a vendor with the City. We hope to see all of our local businesses, big and small, there!

Recreation & Fitness Center Closed Until Further Notice
As most of you already know, the City’s Recreation & Fitness Center is closed. The building flooded due to an overflow of the indoor pool. The building has been dried out and the next step is to repair the damage to the floors and sheet rock. As soon as a contractor begins to repair damages, we will be able to give a more accurate date of reopening. We will be keeping you updated on the progress on our social media sites. For our current members - the City will be extending your memberships from the date of the closing, Sunday, April 19, 2015, through the date of the reopening. We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused and will do everything we can to open as soon as possible. Should you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact our staff at 281-470-7275. We want to thank you for your understanding and patience. Sincerely, Rosalyn Epting, CPRE, Director of Parks & Recreation
