We Want You To Tell Your Family's Story In The Annual Calendar
No one knows this City like you do. No one loves this City like you do. That’s why we want YOU to write our story for this year’s annual calendar. La Porte is a social City with some incredible stories and gifted photographers. For this year’s calendar, we will be searching to the ends of social media to find your photos, your comments, and your history in LP! Want to make it easy for us to feature your story? Use the hashtags #lovelp, #laportetx or post it to our Facebook wall at La Porte By The Bay! You can also email submissions to hefnerj@laportetx.gov. Don’t miss this chance! We want to see what you see, and we want to share why you call La Porte home!

Temporary Disinfection Change Planned
Beginning on the 29th of September and lasting through the month of October, the City of Houston Southeast Water plant will be changing the disinfection process to improve the quality of the water serving La Porte area residents, including Shoreacres and Morgan’s Point.

The normal process using chlorine and ammonia will change to chlorine only. This is a standard process that is performed throughout the year, but usually last only 7 to 10 days. During this period some taste and odor changes may briefly occur, but there are no associated health risks. The City plans to flush certain areas of the system to maximize the effectiveness of the process and maintain water quality.

Owners of tropical fish aquariums should be aware of the change as well as residents using home dialysis machines. Dialysis patients affected may seek advice from their health care provider.

To report a problem with water quality, please contact La Porte Public Works at (281) 471-9650 or publicworks@laportetx.gov.
