Sergeant Scott Pullig began his law enforcement career with the La Porte Police Department in June of 1998. After spending four years on patrol, he was assigned to the Street Crimes Division where he spent the next six years as a narcotics detective. In January of 2009, he rejoined the patrol ranks until 2011 when he was reassigned to the Criminal Investigations Division where he served until his promotion in 2019.
Sergeant Pullig holds a Bachelor of Science Degree, a Master Peace Officer Certification, and is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree at Sam Houston State University. He is a 21 year veteran of the department’s SWAT team and operates as one of the team’s marksman. Sergeant Pullig has amassed several certifications and chief accommodations throughout his 22-year career. He is a former field training officer and currently acts as one of the department’s firearms instructor and the department’s less lethal, distraction device, and chemical munitions instructor. He is a 1911/AR-15 armorer, and he most recently completed training as a polygraph operator in 2015. Sergeant Pullig is married to Cassie Pullig and they have two sons, Brandon and Dylan.
