About the Program

The Senior Services Center provides year-round recreational, fitness, and educational opportunities to adults 60 years of age and older, and their spouses. Our purpose is to encourage independence and community involvement and enhance the quality of life for the older adult population.

Transportation is available to and from the center for residents of La Porte, Shoreacres, and Morgan's Point.

In addition, Monday through Friday, a hot lunch is served both in the Center and to home bound Seniors. These meals are partially funded by Harris County Area Agency on Aging. Meal donations are accepted and reservations are required two days in advance.

Fitness programs are offered, including fitness walking in a climate controlled gymnasium and water aerobics classes in an indoor-heated pool.

A wide variety of classes and activites are also offered at the center. Bible Study, Bridge, Hand Chimes are the classes currently being offered. Bingo, Bean Bag Baseball, Pot Luck Suppers, Shopping Trips, Field Trips, Health Screenings, and Nutrition Information are also available regularly.
