Lieutenant Ed Swenson currently serves as the Support Services Lieutenant for the department where he oversees the Training, Records, Communications, and Humane Divisions, while also monitoring the School Resource Officer Program, Police Area Representatives (P.A.R. Officers), building maintenance, equipment procurement, and resource inventory.
He has been certified as both Master Peace Officer and Police Instructor from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education, and is also a graduate of the Leadership Command College hosted by the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (L.E.M.I.T.). Ed holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Houston - Downtown, as well as an Associate of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from San Jacinto College. He has also completed numerous other police related courses, and was presented with a Life Saving Award early in his career.
Lieutenant Swenson is a United States Army veteran with service in the field of Military Police and has been stationed in locations such as Alabama, Kansas, and Korea. He is married to Sonja with one son and four daughters.
