During the 2010 Spring Break, two 12-year old boys were struck by a truck while crossing Underwood Road.  Both sustained serious injuries from the accident, which will effect them for many years to come. 

We believe that education can play a big part in preventing accidents such as this, or in lessening their impact on our children.  La Porte Safety Town can make a positive difference for generations to come. 

After researching other Safety Towns throughout the country, our Safety Town Advisory Commitee visited Frisco's Fire Safety Town in Frisco, Texas.  We were so inspired by their efforts that we immediately began work to build a Safety Town in La Porte.  Please watch the video below to see Frisco's Fire Safety Town.
