The La Porte Police Department’s K-9 Unit currently has two certified teams and is overseen by Patrol Sergeant Lee Stewart.  The canines each possess individual certifications which enable the unit to perform various duties related to detecting narcotic odors, tracking suspects, and locating missing persons.  The first team is composed of Patrol Officer Jeff Dalton and German Shepherd “Teya”. The second team is composed of Patrol Officer Jesse Arenivas and Belgian Malinois “Lodka”.  Both teams remain active within the City of La Porte and also provide their services for outside law enforcement agencies upon request.
