Blue Santa Program

La Porte’s Blue Santa program gift drop-off points are monitored by
Police Youth Explorers as well as LPISD representatives

The Blue Santa Program, a combined endeavor between La Porte's Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (LPCPAAA), Police Department, Police Officers Association, Fire Department, and Municipal Court, is aimed at providing Christmas support for some of the less fortunate families of La Porte. The program’s primary mission is to provide toys and Christmas dinners for needy children and their families in the local area, many of whom would not have the means to hold traditional Christmas festivities without help from their community.

Adding to the succesful service and outreach efforts of the Blue Santa program, La Porte police join with area Boys & Girls Club members in the reigion to help distribute bicycles among area families. Some 300 bicycles were provided through the Galveston-hosted "Elves & More" program this past holiday season, while the follow-up "Three Kings" program, held in January at La Porte's own branch Neighborhood Center, distributed 30 bicycles specifically to La Porte children.
