The City of La Porte has established guidelines in accordance with the Public Information Act (formerly Open Records Act) to ensure that all records in the possession of and pertaining to the operation of the governmental body are available to the public through a systematic and centralized process. The City Secretary has the authority for releasing records in accordance with the Public Information Act. The Fire Department, Municipal Court and Police Department records are released through those respective department. The City Secretary's office can assist with the release of those records.
